Downloaded Hero11? What to do next
Open the finished file, let Chrome install it, tap Install and log in. If Android shows an error, use the table to find the fix.
Quick answer
Tap the download notification, or open Chrome › ⋮ › Downloads, and tap the Hero11 .apk file. Allow Chrome to install apps if Android asks, tap Install and wait for “App installed”. Tap Open, then LOGIN/REGISTER, and sign in with your email or mobile number, or register if you're new. You can delete the APK afterwards.
Find the downloaded file
No file at all, or the download stopped part-way? Go to stuck or failed downloads first.
- Pull down the notification bar and tap the download-complete notification, if it's still there.
- Otherwise open Chrome, tap ⋮ › Downloads and find the newest Hero11 file ending in .apk.
- You can also open the Files app (Files by Google, My Files on Samsung) and look in Downloads.
- Make sure the entry is complete. If you have several copies, pick the newest complete one.
Install Hero11
On Samsung phones the permission switch can also be found later in Settings › Apps › ⋮ › Special access › Install unknown apps; on most other phones it's Settings › Apps › Special app access › Install unknown apps. Turn it on only for the browser you actually used to download Hero11.
Play Protect may scan the app before it installs; that's normal. If it says the app is blocked or could be harmful, don't override it. Delete the file and download a fresh copy from the Hero11 site rather than from a mirror or a forwarded link.
- Tap the Hero11 file.
- If Android says your phone isn't allowed to install unknown apps from this source, tap Settings, switch on Allow from this source, and go back.
- Tap Install and wait for “App installed”.
- Tap Open.
Already have Hero11?Opens the Hero11 site. Tap LOGIN/REGISTER at the top and enter the email or mobile number on your account.
If Android shows an error
| Message | What it usually means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| There was a problem parsing the package | The file is incomplete, damaged or not suited to your phone | Delete it and download it again on a steady connection. |
| App not installed | Low storage, a damaged file, or a clash with a Hero11 app already on the phone | Free up space, download once more and keep your existing app installed. |
| Your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source | Chrome hasn't been given install permission yet | Tap Settings › Allow from this source, then go back. |
| Insufficient storage | Not enough room to unpack the app | Free some space, restart the phone and try again. |
| Nothing happens when you tap the file | The download didn't finish, or the Files app can't open it | Open it from Chrome › Downloads instead. |
Log in or create your account
Tap the green LOGIN/REGISTER button at the top right. The screen says “Let's get you started” and asks for your Email/Mobile No. Leave out the country code for mobile numbers, tap CONTINUE and follow the prompts that appear.
Returning user? Enter the same email or number you used before; reinstalling never creates a new account, and a second registration won't recover the first. Hero11 is for users aged 18 and over, so read the rules of any contest or game before you join and keep to your limits; see responsible play.
The headset icon next to × on the Login/Register screen is the usual customer-support symbol, and it's the quickest way to look for help before you're logged in. Other channels are on our contact page.
Tidy up afterwards
- Delete the .apk file and any duplicates from Downloads. The installed app doesn't need them.
- If you like, switch the install permission off again in Settings › Apps › Special app access › Install unknown apps › Chrome.
- Remember where you downloaded Hero11 from, so you get future versions from the same place; see how to download the latest update.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the Hero11 APK after downloading?
In your phone's Downloads folder. Open it from Chrome › ⋮ › Downloads, from the Files app under Downloads, or by tapping the download-complete notification.
Why won't Hero11 install after downloading?
Most often the file is incomplete, storage is low, or Chrome isn't allowed to install apps yet. Check the exact message Android shows, fix that cause and try again with one complete file.
Can I delete the Hero11 APK after installing?
Yes. The installed app doesn't need the .apk file any more. Deleting it from Downloads frees space and won't remove the app.
Do I need to register again after reinstalling Hero11?
No. Reinstalling doesn't create a new account. Log in with the same email or mobile number you used before.
